This site is for us. You and me and anyone who cares to join us. It's a place to watch or join a debate. You can grab some advice here -- or give some. This is a gift economy site. It's free because it is a network, and that in itself created value.

Networks of ideas are perpetual-motion machines. Everybody wins. Our goal is to make the pie bigger, not to take your piece. The benefits of participation grow exponentially. This cycle of increaingly good will can create a great resource for us.

Learning, business, and networks are rapidly converging. We have arrived at a special moment in history. You and I have a shot at making the earth a markedly better place to live.

I feel compelled to change the world by improving the way people learn. I am passionate about helping everyone become more effective and fuilfilled in their work and happier in their lives.

The Meta-Learning Lab and our Unworkshops were starting points, but they don't scale and at this point are not economically feasible. When it comes to learning, most people have missed the Cluetrain. As of yesterday, all of the lessons, links, videos, cases, white papers, job aids and essays are covered with a Creative Commons license. They're free. Like the Whole Earth Catalog, we seek to provide access to tools, mainly mind tools.

This site is and will always be in beta. It's going to take a while to index things so you can find them. (Suggestions are welcome.)

The Rules here are few. The Well was a great teacher.

Be civil.

Contribute to the community. Share what you learn.

Be candid. Tell the truth.

Don't deceive. Disclose your commercial interests.

In case of disputes, Jay is judge and jury.

We are exploring the intersection of unconferences and learning with Social Media Club.

Writing on the Walls Retreat

This is the transformational business skill described in Informal Learning. You’ll come away with the ability to make drawings that inspire groups and clarify new gameplans. My attendance proves that you need no artistic skills to do this. Next session is January 19-20 in Bodega Bay, about an hour up the coast from San Francisco.

Check out Xplane's new site. Look at the projects page; it's a lesson on process graphics in itself.
